About Pupsley
A free place to look after your dog and meet the dog people around you.
Pupsley is an Australian-run dog community app and website that helps dog owners connect locally, find walking companions, manage their dogs' care, join groups and discover their local dog community. You keep your dog's details and care in one place โ vaccinations, worming, grooming, the things that are easy to let slip โ and you can get word out quickly if a dog goes missing.
Pupsley is free to use. There are no ads, and we never sell your data. It is paid for by the people who use it: an optional supporter membership of A$5.99 a month, and one-off contributions. Everything Pupsley does today is free whether you chip in or not.
Why we built it
Dogs deserve more than a walk. They deserve friends, play and a bit of a community around them โ and so do the people at the other end of the lead.
Plenty of owners want to meet others nearby, find walking buddies and feel part of something local, and have nowhere obvious to start. Thousands of dogs walk past each other every day without ever meeting. Pupsley exists to fix that: real people a few streets away, real walks, real friendships โ not another feed to scroll.
What we care about
- Dogs first. If something doesn't make a dog's life better, we don't build it.
- Free, and straight about the money. No ads, nobody's data sold, and no quiet move of today's features behind a paywall later.
- Local and real. Pupsley is for meeting the people around the corner, not for collecting followers.
- You decide who sees you. Being findable is a choice you make, and one you can change whenever you like.
Where Pupsley works
Anyone, anywhere in the world, can sign up and use Pupsley. You pick the suburb you walk in, and everything local is worked out from there.
How much is happening near you depends on how many owners have joined nearby, and in most places that is still early days. If you are the first in your suburb, you won't be for long.
Your privacy
You choose who can find you: visible to owners near you, friends only, or private. Your dog only gets a public page if you switch one on. Signed-out visitors looking at a suburb are shown counts โ how many owners, dogs and walks are around โ never names, photos or profiles. And we never show anyone a precise location; the closest Pupsley gets is the suburb you chose.
The privacy policy sets out the whole of it: what we hold, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to change.
Helping rescue dogs
Pupsley grew out of years spent around dog rescue, and helping rescue dogs is the reason we want it to earn anything at all.
At least half of supporter contributions are committed to dog rescue. The rest covers what it costs to keep Pupsley alive โ hosting, infrastructure, services and the things needed to run the platform. As Pupsley grows beyond those costs, we want an even greater share of every supporter dollar behind rescue.
Being straight about where that stands: we are talking to dog rescues about joining, and we want supporters to be able to nominate a rescue to get behind. That part isn't built yet โ Pupsley does not automatically route or pay contributions out to a rescue, and there is no way to choose which rescue your support reaches. The commitment above holds either way, and we'll say so here the moment the rest is live.
Our mission is simple: help dogs live better lives โ together.
๐พ From the people behind Pupsley
Pupsley grew out of years spent in the dog rescue community โ where people come together to support each other, share knowledge, and give dogs better lives.
We've seen firsthand how powerful that community can be. Not just for the dogs, but for the people behind them โ the friendships, the support, and the everyday moments that come from simply showing up.
Pupsley was built to bring a piece of that into everyday life โ making it easier for dog owners to connect, meet locally, and build those same kinds of relationships.
This isn't just a platform โ it's something we genuinely believe in and use ourselves.
