Delete your Pupsley account

Pupsley is the dog community app and website at pupsley.com. If you'd rather not be here any more, you can ask us to delete your Pupsley account and the personal information held on it. This page is how you start that, and you don't need to be signed in to use it.

How to ask

If you're signed in, the quickest way is from Pupsley itself โ€” open your settings on the website, or Settings in the app, and choose Request account deletion. You don't need to email us to start, and we already know which account you're signed in to. Requests are reviewed manually by a person, and your account keeps working until they get to it.

If you can't sign in โ€” you've uninstalled the app, or lost access to the account โ€” email us instead. A person reads that mailbox.

Go to your settings

Email [email protected]

If that button doesn't open your mail app, write to [email protected] yourself and put Pupsley account deletion request in the subject.

If you support Pupsley through Google Play, please also cancel that membership in Google Play's subscription settings. Google bills it, not Pupsley, so asking us to delete your account doesn't stop those payments on its own.

Tell us which account you mean

This part only matters if you're emailing. Send your request from the email address you use to sign in to Pupsley, or write that address in the message. That address is how we find the right account โ€” a dog's name or a display name isn't enough to go on, and we won't guess.

Checking it's really you

Somebody must not be able to get another person's account deleted, so we need to know that a request really comes from the account holder. When you ask from inside Pupsley you're already signed in, so we know which account you mean โ€” that's the whole reason that route is the quick one.

An email is different. The address a message arrives from isn't proof by itself, so we may ask you to verify that you control the email address on the account before anything happens. If that can't be established, the request doesn't go any further.

What we can and can't take out

A request is about your Pupsley account and the personal information on it. What we hold, and why, is set out in full in our privacy policy.

Not all of it is ours to take out, and we'd rather say so here than surprise you afterwards. Some records live in other people's accounts rather than yours โ€” a notification in somebody else's inbox is their record โ€” and a group you started may carry on with the members still in it. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires; we're not quoting a number until we have a written schedule to hold ourselves to.

If you just want a break

Deactivating hides your profile but keeps it, so you can come back. It isn't deletion and nothing is removed โ€” you'll find it in your settings when you're signed in.

Anything else

We answer privacy enquiries within 30 days, and asking is free. If you want a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else covered by the privacy policy, the same address reaches us: [email protected]. A real person reads it.
